A Persuasive Essay by Junior Lock J. Jeremy (age 13)
My phone’s dictionary defines intelligence as “the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.” For the Order of the Grand Lock, intelligence is what allows the Order of the Grand Lock to acquire the power and the skills that make it the most influential and powerful organization of all time. For example, it is through intelligence that the Order of the Grand Lock was able to acquire another lodge, the Brotherhood of the All-Seeing Loon. Some people think strength, beauty, or money is more important than intelligence, for example, many of the kids in my grade think this. They are wrong and will oneday be judged for their foolishness by their maker. As illustrated by “Where the Red Fern Grows” and the famous Fortnight streamer, Ninja, intelligence is the most important thing in life.
“Where the Red Fern Grows” by Wilson Rawls is an excellent book about a boy named Billy and his two coonhounds, Old Dan and Little Anne. Billy is an excellent dog trainer and his dogs become experts at catching raccoons. In chapter 12 a bully named Ruben makes a bet that Little Anne and Old Dan can’t catch the ghost coon, a legendary racoon. Billy uses his intelligence to figure out that the ghost coon is hiding in a hollow fence post and not magically disappearing. Billy respects the ghost coon’s intelligence and decides to spare his life but this makes Ruben so upset that he attacks billy with an ax and tries to murder him. Ruben gets his just desserts however because he falls on his own ax and bleeds to death. The death of the bully Ruben and Billy’s victorious triumph over bullying proves that strength is not as important as intelligence.
On the other hand, in the popular online game Fortnight, although the game is free to play, you can spend real money to buy v-bucks which can be used new new skins and emotes for your character. Some people spend 100s of dollars on new skins and make fun on people who just use default skins even though it is free game. Even though you can spend money on skins, spending money on skins doesn’t make you a better player. Ninja, a famous streamer on Twitch analyzes every game he plays. He says: “When you’re practicing, you’re taking every single match seriously, so you don’t have an excuse when you die. A lot of people don’t do that.” Because he uses intelligence and not money, he is the best Fortnight streamer of all time.
In conclusion, intelligence is all that matters. Many kids at school bully others because they’re not as physically strong or rich or hot as other people. I always tell these people that they can laugh now but there will be a reckoning and only God is the true judge and they will all pay. Many of these kids are also not in the Order of the Grand Lock, the most intelligent order in the United States of America and the world.
