Infrequently, we here at the Locksmith Newsletter make a mistake that makes it to publication. Even more infrequently, we acknowledge these mistakes.

An article written by Leadership in an April 1959 issue of The Newsletter incorrectly referred to an “unsurpassed reign” that would “never end” and “stretch out towards the right side of the timeline infinitely.” With the Leadership Campaign in full swing as The Order seeks it’s new figurehead, clearly this prognostication was incorrect. We wish the former Leadership luck wherever he/she/they are.

Volume 871, Issue 40 featured a subject line that included the words “Subject Line” in the subject line. We’ve been over this before, but once again, this was a copy and paste error and not a coded message to utilize our autokey-cipher. Please stop emailing about this.

A review of the film The Sixth Sense appearing in the August 3, 1999 edition of The Newsletter inadvertently spoiled the ending of the film. We here at the Locksmith have a strict no-spoiler policy. Rest assured, when we learned of our error we were just as surprised as Rey when she learned her true father was Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

A very funny cartoon published in June of 1908 under the masthead “Laffs from Locks” was not sufficiently fact-checked. The dog behind the desk, wearing the tuxedo and interviewing the candidate for the job position wore a Grand Lock lapel pin on his left breast. Obviously, be you man or beast, one does not wear a lapel pin with evening wear. The dog boss should have been shown wearing the Grand Lock amulet, and we apologize for the mistake.

Recently an Op-Ed editor made the mistake of criticizing the decisions of Leadership. This decision on the part of the editor, as well as any other choices he had made in life, has been corrected.

A picture caption on August 9, 2016 with an article about W. Churchill misstated the location of some individuals pictured. From left to right, those photographed should have been named: W. Churchill, F. Roosevelt, A. Brooke, W. Churchill, J. Stalin, W. Churchill, W. Churchill II.

The correction immediately preceding this one previously appearedin the volume 871, issue 12 edition of The Newsletter. We are still investigating how this mistake occurred and are taking strides to remedy the error.
Have you found an error in an edition of the Locksmith Newsletter? Keep it to yourself. We get in trouble when you email our mistakes to key@thegrandlock.com. How’d you like it if we directly contacted your boss every time you screwed up? You never thought about it like that, did you?
